Ellen Lagerström is a textile designer and artist based in Gothenburg, Sweden.
She explores the craft of knitting and pushes its boundaries through the use of digital tools. Working at the intersection of design and art, she highlights textile qualities such as material composition, rich textures, and three-dimensionality.
Ellen graduated from the Swedish School of Textiles in 2024. During her bachelor’s degree, she completed an internship with the Danish knitwear brand A. Roege Hove. For her graduation project Linear Light, she received an award from TextielLab, which included a four-month residency at the lab and the opportunity to develop a project within digital knitting. Before her BA, she studied textile art and fashion design at Stenebyskolan.
Her work has been exhibited at TextielMuseum Tilburg, Textilmuseet Borås, Galleri Résistance Gothenburg, Coma Site, Stockholm Furniture Fair, and Nordic Fabric Fair.
