This project is based on introspection. Who am I and how do I create something based on that? Do the viewer need to know that it is a self-portrait or is it enough that I know it.
To create this piece, I used discarded jeans that I have collected over many years. Previously used by me, my family members and my closest friends. I hand embroidered every piece of denim with a smocking technique that create an organic pattern through intuitive stitching.
