Weaving as a system is based on a pixel principle 1 or 0, warp or weft is visible. This principle awards square designs. How can I bring in organic influences from nature, keep a graphic aesthetic while limiting myself to only design for dobby looms.
The core techniques I have used in all three pieces is compound weave using two weft systems and satin binding as my base weave. I weave utilizing longer floats to create volume and pattern.
